121010 at the Wall Talk Gallery

Participated in my first gallery showing. excellent location in downtown Northampton. We stopped by early in the evening to check out the scene and it was fun. We drew significant traffic with friends coming by to check it out. It felt like a positive start to perhaps a more creative life. I'm feeling like 2011 could be a good year for creative pursuits coming together for me and my peeps.

Waiting for Meltdown

Here's a painting from the late 90's. Must have had enviromental apocalypse on my mind.

Memescape Alpha

One in a long line of interior landscapes. This was one of my first efforts of combining hand drawn elements in photoshop.

Comic Pattern

Another from the pattern series. By this point I was designing the "seed" for the pattern as apposed to earlier pieces that used random elements from nature.

Twig God

"Twig God" from my pattern series.

The Elementals

Here's a painting I did a couple of years ago called "The Elementals". I was inspired by the concept of animism. The idea that everything has a spirit, including rocks, trees and animals.

Science Fiction

Both Scifi and Comicbook art have been big influences on my work. Here's one from 2009.

Early 80's magic marker madness

Digging deep back into the archives, here's a piece from my early 80's magic marker phase. All I remember about this is that i drew it after seeing my first Grateful Dead concert.

Art?

I've been an artist all my life. My Dad was an artist, he ran a small advertising agency and painted nice pictures on the weekends. As a child I wanted nothing more then to draw comic books. Well, it's many years later now and I'm still at it. But what's it all about? This blog will be a forum for sharing and reflecting on my art. Maybe I'll make some sense of it yet. To start off I'll be posting a work of art every day. Some will be old, other hot off the press. At some point I'll make it possible to buy prints if interested. Enjoy
